April 2003: Backpack for a 7th grade Laguna boy who lives with his grandma. A bully had taken his pack on the city bus, and the grandmother couldn’t afford another. Referral: Julie Jones ($43.43)

May 2003: Tuition for a resource student at Laguna to attend a cartooning class at College for Kids, Cuesta College. The student’s father has just been released from prison and the boy needs a positive place to go this summer where his one talent, drawing, and his self-confidence can be nurtured. Referral: Rawley Regier, teacher, Laguna Middle School ($60)

May 2003: Appointment with Karen Scott, audiologist, for a three-year old boy. Referral: CHDP Janet ($100)

May 2003: Clothing for a two-year-old boy and an eight-year-old girl whose family lost everything in a fire in Santa Maria. Referral: Elaine Stewart ($89.74)

May 2003: $200 donation from Laguna’s Hero Club to Womenade to help us help others!
June 2003: Pediatric audiometry with Karen Scott, audiologist, for another three-year-old boy. Referral: CHDP Janet ($100)

June 2003: Summer Water Polo fee for an 8th grader who lives with his single father who is on Social Security, totally disabled – blind. Referral: Julie Jones, counselor, Laguna Middle School ($175)

June 2003: Appointment with Karen Scott, audiologist, for eleven-year-old girl. Referral: CHDP Janet ($75)

June 2003: Dental care by Dr. Dean Smith: study models and spacer interceptive orthodontic appliance for seven-year-old girl. Referral: CHDP Janet ($392)
August 2003: A 17-year-old was burned over 75% of her body in a house fire when she was 4 causing severe scarring on her face, scalp, ears, neck, and chest. Her younger sister was also seriously burned and she lost her mother in the fire. She has endured painful surgeries over the last 13 years, yet has grown into an intelligent, well-adjusted young girl who lives in a loving foster family. Shriners Hospital has authorized permanently tattooed eyebrows. No medical personnel at Shriners or here can provide this service. Dr. Ke-Ping Tsao referred CCS to a permanent make-up specialist, but CCS cannot pay for this service because she is not a medical provider. Womenade! August 2003: A young married couple lost all their possessions in a moving van fire. They were on their way to jobs as an engineer and third grade teacher in South Carolina. The van insurance returns sixty cents per pound on their belongings, but this does not recoup the loss of engineering books or books Dawn purchased for her new and needy classroom of students. We helped toward the purchase of these books. Referral: Sandy Richardson ($25)
September 2003: Treatment (2 appointments) by Dr. Malotte for eleven-year-old girl assessed by audiologist, Karen Scott. Referral: CHDP Janet ($216)

October 2003: Gum surgery for a two-year-old girl. Parents are farm workers who paid as much as they could. Referral: CHDP Janet ($235.20)
November 2003: Gum surgery for a two-year-old girl. Bottle-mouth. Referral: CHDP Janet ($235. 20)
November 2003: FHA Hero Membership Fee for a special education girl at Laguna Middle School. Referral: Julie Jones, counselor, Laguna Middle School ($20)
December 2003: Clothes for an emotionally disturbed, abused child. Referral: Julie Jones, counselor, Laguna Middle School ($122.47)
